Inside America's water storage tanks there's a revolution going on

A new solution
“Carollo continually seeks opportunities to bring novel, creative, and improved solutions to our clients, especially when these improvements lower costs and reduce environmental impacts. The PAX Water Mixer is such an improvement. Many Carollo clients operate reservoirs that experience thermal stratification or poor disinfectant distribution using conventional mixing systems. These clients would benefit from improved distribution system water quality using better, more efficient mixing technology.”

About PAX Water Technologies

Nature’s design at work

PAX Water Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of PAX Scientific, Inc., was founded in 2006 with the exclusive right to develop and market energy-efficient mixing and circulation systems based on PAX’s impeller technology for water and wastewater treatment applications.

Inventor Jay Harman developed PAX's mixing technology after years of studying efficiency of fluid flow in natural systems such as air and ocean currents, and observing that fluids persistently organize along streamlines that share a common and scalable geometry. Jay linked his findings to the study of biological form and function, which has identified the same underlying geometries throughout the structure and profile of plants and animals, as well as their specialized parts and internal organs, and the connection between these forms and the superior efficiency of biological or natural flow systems.

PAX Scientific was founded to develop this emerging understanding of natural system flow geometries to improve the energy and process efficiency of mechanical systems and fluid-handling equipment such as fans, mixers, propellers, turbines, and pumps. Employing the Streamlining Principle, PAX’s designs consist of compound curves in multiple axes, distinctly different from other rotational equipment on the market which typically consists of either a planar surface or surfaces with a simple curvature in only one axis. As a result, PAX designs appear organic in shape. This is no coincidence: the same geometries are found throughout the natural world.

PAX Water’s first product, a highly effective mixer for potable water storage tanks and reservoirs, was designed by combining this new design approach with state-of-the-art engineering, computational fluid dynamic modeling, and rigorous testing. The company is actively developing new products and applications that facilitate sustainable management of fresh water resources challenged by deficient mixing and/or circulation.

A dedication to quality

PAX Water Technologies, Inc. is dedicated to supplying high quality products that meet and exceed the needs of our water and wastewater customers. The company's strict quality control and continuous improvement programs ensure the best value to our customers at the lowest possible cost.
